The Fodfolkskarabin m/89-24 (Infantry Carbine*)
*
basically a Gevaer m/89 with a chopped barrel and*
rear sights to reflect the new barrel length. They*
began with Rasmussen polygonal rifling, but this was*
quickly abandoned in favor of more conventional*
rifling. They were all converted from Gevaer m/89s*
until 1929, when new ones were first built.*
The Fodfolkskarabin m/89-24 was originally used by*
infantry machinegun companies, then extended to*
mortarunits and antitank gun crews.*
